JIS B 2401 — published by the Japanese Standards Association — defines three o-ring series by application: P-series (piping and pipe fittings, 1.9 mm cross section), G-series (general-purpose and vacuum fittings, 3.1 mm cross section), and S-series (static face-seal grooves, 1.5 mm cross section).
